Fertilization Recommendations for Grassland

8/19/2025

In spring at the start of vegetation (approx. from 8–10°C soil temperature, with sufficient leaf mass, e.g., 10–15 cm height): 1 L/ha. Goal: promote vigorous early regrowth after winter, invigorate grasses and legumes, and improve nutrient uptake. After each cut/grazing pass (when regrowth is around 5–10 cm high): 1 L/ha. Goal: rapid plant recovery, promote tillering and root growth, improve nutrient-use efficiency and water uptake.

Before dry periods or other stress events (if foreseeable): 1 L/ha each time. Goal: increase tolerance to drought, heat, or cold.

In autumn (before winter dormancy, with sufficient vegetation, e.g., October): 1 L/ha. Goal: strengthen plants for overwintering, promote root development, and storage of reserves.

Rationale: On grassland, biostimulants support the sward in all growth phases. They promote tillering and root development (improving nutrient and water uptake), recovery after cutting or grazing, and stress tolerance. This results in a denser, more vigorous sward, higher yields, and better forage quality. Especially in older stands or after stress (e.g., intensive use, drought), biostimulants can restore vitality.
